The Familyhood Connection's strategy to build "Healthy Economics" is to rebuild the communities generation gap.
Our method is to visualize the high school in the neighborhood as the nucleus for bringing the generations together.
MO BETTER FOOD
The Mo' Better Food Market started at McClymonds high school. Students from the Business Academy, sold food at McClymonds grown by the African American Farmers of California.
FRIENDS OF SCHOOL
After McClymonds High School was divided into three schools because of a small communities school initiative, the school name was lost. It was brought back in 2010 mainly because of the McClymonds High School Alumni Association.
THE INTERGENERATIONAL ENTERPRISE
Our mission is to create sustainable communities by bridging the gap between the generations through social enterprises and other initiatives which enable local residents to gain work experience to promote self empowernment and community ownership.
In order to create sustainable communities, we believe, residents must be educated and inspired to utilize their education to improve their community.
